Berufe mit Zukunft in Kanada

Erstmals hat das kanadische Statistikamt die wirtschaftliche Bedeutung der "digitalen Ökonomie" quantifiziert. So hatte die "digitale Ökonomie" 2017 einen Anteil von 5.5% am Bruttoinlandsprodukt bei. Das entspricht einer wirtschaftlichen Jahresleistung von fast 110 Milliarden kanadischen Dollar. Damit ist sie jetzt in der Wirtschaftsleistung potenter als beispielsweise Bergbau, Öl- und Gasproduktion zusammen. Auf die einzelnen Provinzen bezogen, spielt die Digitalisierung in Ontario und Quebec ein grössere Rolle als bei den Schlusslichtern Saskatchewan, Yukon, Northwest Territories und Nunavut. Die Wachstumsrate in den letzten 7 Jahren war in BC und Quebec am stärksten.

2017 waren 4,7% aller Arbeitsplätze in Kanada in irgendeiner Form mit der digitalisierten Wirtschaft verbunden. Das entspricht einer Zunahme von 37% während der letzten 7 Jahre und damit ist das Beschäftigungswachstum in der digitalen Wirtschaft mehr als viermal so hoch wie in der Gesamtwirtschaft.

Die Telekommunikation leistete immer noch den grössten Beitrag zur digitalen Wirtschaftsleistung, allerdings wuchs E-Commerce am stärksten. Die meisten Jobs wurden im Support Service geschaffen.
In ihrem neuesten Labour Market Outlook (2019 Edition) sagen die Behörden voraus, dass in den nächsten 10 Jahren 861’000 Stellen demographisch wie innovationsbedingt in British Columbia neu zu besetzen sein werden. Dabei wird etwa jede dritte Stelle an einen Einwanderer gehen.
77 Prozent aller zu besetzenden Stellen werden nach einer postsekundäre Ausbildung bzw. nach einer Berufslehre verlangen.
Die meisten aller Stellenangebote werden im Gesundheitswesen zu finden sein, gefolgt von wissenschaftlichen, technischen Berufen und Detailhandel.
Am meisten Stellen werden in den Regionen “Vancouver Island/Coast”, “Mainland/Southwest” und “Thompson-Okanagan” zu finden sein. Der prozentual grösste Stellenzuwachs wird der Region "Northeast" zugeschrieben.

Für die kommenden Jahre erwartet das kanadische Arbeitsamt, dass bei den (skilled und semi-skilled) Stellen vor allem neue Stellen für Krankenschwestern, Berufe in der Informationstechnologie, Sozialarbeitern, Lehrer, Ärzte, Verkaufsleiter und LKW-Fahrer zusätzlich geschaffen werden.

Am meisten neue zusätzliche Stellen werden bis 2024 für Berufe geschaffen, die eine eine universitäre Ausbildung (Skill Level “A”) verlangen, gefolgt von Berufe mit einer abgeschlossenen Berufslehre (Skill level “B”). Bei den Berufsektoren werden die grössten Jobwachstumsraten im Verkauf, Dienstleistungssektor und Gesundheitswesen erwartet.

Die meisten Einwanderungskategorien verlangen Berufserfahrung in einem "skilled" resp. "semi-skilled" Job. Dass heisst, Berufe mit einem sog. "Skill level" von "0", "A", "B" oder "C".
